US District Courts - Oakland
Location: Oakland Federal Building, 1301 Clay St, Oakland
Business Image Group researched and produced exhibits capturing the Oakland's history for all of its jury rooms.

For the Oakland Courts project, we worked with the City of Oakland's Collection in their History Room, assisted by their head archivist, Steve Lavoie. His extensive knowledge of Oakland enabled us to provide detailed caption information for the images to aid in "telling the story."

Each image was carefully restored and digitally mastered, correcting for the fading that had occurred over time as well as defects and artifacts in the images. Great care is taken to preserve the historical integrity of the image and to present as best as possible an image that would as if the photograph had just made the image today.

The collection was curated by Bennett Hall and the individual images for the jury room were selected by judges of the Oakland Court.

The images are located in the recently completed Oakland Federal Building.
